How can I switch to a different Kia Charge tariff plan?
To change your current tariff plan, follow these steps:
- Log in to your account
Access your Kia Charge account here. - Navigate to contracts
Once logged in, go to the "Contracts" section. - Find your tariff information
Scroll down to the tariff details of your active contract. - Switch tariff option
Click on the "Switch tariff" action button located next to your tariff information. - Review & Confirm
Follow the on-screen instructions to review the new tariff details. Confirm your selection to proceed.
Important notes:
- Effective date: Plan changes only take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, which can be up to 30 days after you request the change. You’ll see the exact date during the plan change process. For example, if your billing cycle runs from the 15th of one month to the 14th of the next, your new plan will start on the 15th. If you request a change on the 10th, your new plan could start within 4 days. But if you request it on the 16th, you’ll need to wait longer until the cycle ends.
- Switching limitations: Ensure your account is free of unpaid invoices, as pending payments may block tariff adjustments.
- Effect on changed contract & associated charging card: Please note that changing your tariff will not affect your existing contract or charging card.
Why are there blocking fees applied to my charging sessions?
Blocking fees are time-based charges designed to encourage fair use of charging stations and prevent misuse of parking spaces.
Fair use of charging stations
Blocking fees start counting from the beginning of your charging session, regardless of your battery’s charge level. This encourages drivers to free up charge points promptly so others can use them as well.
Preventing misuse of parking spaces
Some charging stations are in parking lots where petrol cars pay to park, but EVs may not during charging. To stop EVs from using these spots as free parking after a certain time, blocking fees apply based on the session duration—often after 90, 120, or 180 minutes depending on the location.
Maximising efficiency at High Power Charging (HPC) stations
At HPC stations, where fast turnaround is key, blocking fees help keep charge points available by discouraging long occupancy.
Please check the specific blocking fee rules in your Kia Charge app or charging card terms before starting your session.
Which packages can I book in addition to my contracts?
You can explore and book available packages in two ways:
- From your contract dashboard:
- Log in to your Kia Charge account using a web browser.
- Navigate to the "Contracts" section.
- Here, you will find the list of packages available for booking based on your current contract.
- On the tariff page (before registration):
- Visit the tariff page on the Kia Charge website.
- This page displays all available packages, including details about pricing and benefits, helping you make an informed choice before registering.
Important notes:
- Package availability may vary depending on your contract type or region.
- For detailed package terms and conditions, refer to the descriptions provided in your dashboard or the tariff page.
How can I cancel a package?
You can easily terminate packages with an indefinite runtime through the contract dashboard. Follow these steps:
- Log in to your Kia Charge account using a web browser.
- Navigate to the "Contracts" section.
- Locate your active package and click on "Manage subscription."
- In the pop-up window, select "Cancel my subscription" to terminate the package.
Important notes:
- Fixed runtime packages: Some packages might have a predefined end date. For such packages, the end date is displayed in the contract dashboard, and termination is not possible before this date.
- Cancellation requests for indefinite runtime packages may take effect after the current billing cycle.
