    FAQs

How can I switch to a different Kia Charge tariff plan?

To change your current tariff plan, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your account
Access your Kia Charge account here.
    2. Navigate to contracts
Once logged in, go to the "Contracts" section.
    3. Find your tariff information
Scroll down to the tariff details of your active contract.
    4. Switch tariff option
Click on the "Switch tariff" action button located next to your tariff information.
    5. Review & Confirm
Follow the on-screen instructions to review the new tariff details. Confirm your selection to proceed.

    Important notes:

    • Effective date: Tariff changes will only take effect at the end of your current tariff's runtime. The exact date is displayed during the tariff-switching process.
    • Switching limitations: Ensure your account is free of unpaid invoices, as pending payments may block tariff adjustments.

Why are there blocking fees applied to my charging sessions?

Blocking fees are applied for the following reasons:

    1. Encouraging fair use of charging stations
      • In general, blocking fees are raised by the operators of the charge points to encourage drivers to remove their fully charged vehicle from the charging station, so another car may be charged.
    2. Avoiding misuse of parking spaces
      • Some charging stations might be located in parking lots where parking fees apply for gasoline cars but not for EVs during charging. In order to discourage EV drivers from using these spots as free parking spots after the car is fully charged, operators of charge points might raise blocking fees.
      • There could also be car parks, such as shopping centres, where you need to pay parking fee upon entrance of their premises, as well as blocking fee if your vehicle occupies the charge point for longer than 90 / 120 / 180 minutes, depending on the station's conditions.
    3. Maximising efficiency at High Power Charging (HPC) stations
      • Lastly, High Power Charging Stations can quickly charge one car after the other and thus should not be blocked by a car that is fully charged as it would defeat their purpose.

    Additional notes:

    • Blocking fees vary depending on the charge point operator and local regulations.
    • Always check station-specific policies in your Kia Charge app or charging card terms before starting a session.

Which packages can I book in addition to my contracts?

You can explore and book available packages in two ways:

    1. From your contract dashboard:
      • Log in to your Kia Charge account using a web browser.
      • Navigate to the "Contracts" section.
      • Here, you will find the list of packages available for booking based on your current contract.
    2. On the tariff page (before registration):
      • Visit the tariff page on the Kia Charge website.
      • This page displays all available packages, including details about pricing and benefits, helping you make an informed choice before registering.

    Important notes:

    • Package availability may vary depending on your contract type or region.
    • For detailed package terms and conditions, refer to the descriptions provided in your dashboard or the tariff page.

How can I cancel a package?

You can easily terminate packages with an indefinite runtime through the contract dashboard. Follow these steps:

    1. Log in to your Kia Charge account using a web browser.
    2. Navigate to the "Contracts" section.
    3. Locate your active package and click on "Manage subscription."
    4. In the pop-up window, select "Cancel my subscription" to terminate the package.

    Important notes:

    • Fixed runtime packages: Some packages might have a predefined end date. For such packages, the end date is displayed in the contract dashboard, and termination is not possible before this date.
    • Cancellation requests for indefinite runtime packages may take effect after the current billing cycle.
